In gratitude, Gaia placed the scorpion in the night sky as the constellation of Scorpio. The hunter Orion was also honored, but the two constellations were placed on opposite sides of the heavens. It is said they continue to chase each other eternally, never to meet—symbolizing the cosmic tension between arrogance and truth, dominance and retribution. Sagittarius is the ninth sign in the zodiac cycle and therefore describes the 9th house representing higher education, travel, religion and your own path in life. It is often symbolized by the Archer, which was a centaur, a mythological being half man and half horse. His name was Chiron and also described as the wounded healer, as he was accidentally shot by Hercules with a poisoned arrow. He suffered dearly after that shot and even though his healing abilities were profound, he could not heal himself. In the end he gave up his immortality to save Prometheus and went to the underworld instead of him. For this heroic act, his constellation was cast onto the sky. Chiron was regarded as different by many, due to his appearance, but known by all as an intellectual and a great healer and truly loved by his wife Chariklo.   

As the story teaches us, intellect and knowledge are important, but your own true path in life will always draw you towards it. You can become your own guru, but in the end there is something greater than yourself as well. 

In the astrological sense, the zodiac sign of Sagittarius is ruled by the planet Jupiter. Jupiter, the God of wisdom and expansion, is known to the greatest among the Gods. He expands everything he touches and is known as the great benefactor. 

Therefore, Sagittarius represents learning, self-actualization and adventure. The Sagittarius has the ability to forge its own path in life, to go beyond what is already known and to strive towards their own meaning in life. This characteristic makes Sagittarius an inspiring force within the zodiacal cycle. It is the risk-taker and the initiator. Personally, I have met many Sagittariuses that are doubting the existence of God. Many times I have asked myself how this can be in the sign that is mostly connected to religion. But we have to understand that it is the 12th house that is connected to God. The 9th house of Sagittarius is associated with religion. Religion gives structure, hierarchy and a sense of service to others and something greater than ourselves. Consequently, we can find many Sagittariusses who are structured, very well organized and true managers. I think of it more like the practice of taking care of a temple or zen garden, then spirituality itself. 

Sagittariuses can be opinionated and also quite argumentative. But this is more in terms of a good discussion, than a verbal fight. This sign stands for higher knowledge and intellect. As an archetype we can imagine Sokrates, the greek philosopher (Sōkrátēs; c. 470 – 399 BC). His aim was to learn through good dialogue and teach others to learn by asking them questions leading to reflective thinking. Using this method, he was able to help others expand their own horizon within their own mind only through questions introducing logic and ratio. This is a great depiction of Sagittarius, as they constantly question themselves, their surroundings and strive to increase their understanding of the world. 

Sagittarius does not come across as an intellectual (this might be Aquarius much more). They rather come across well grounded, much like an earth sign having a strong base to stand on. In the zodiac cycle the house of Sagittarius is in opposition to the 3rd house of Gemini, which represents day to day life, our tangible skills and our immediate surroundings. Looking at Sagittarius from that angle, it also stands for our intellectual, invisible skills and everything that is far away from our daily hustle and bustle. Travel to far away places and gurus may also be represented by Sagittarius.

Sagittarius can also be a little melancholic and critical. As they like to think conceptually, the reality sometimes does not match up. This ability though makes them great entrepreneurs, as they can envision products and services that do not yet exist. They are true innovators. 

Capricorn – climbing the mountain of purpose, one step at a time

Capricorn is the tenth sign in the zodiac cycle and therefore describes the 10th house, representing career, public image, success, and our own authority. This is the sign that stands for long-term goals, discipline, and building something that lasts. Capricorn energy is deeply grounded and practical—it doesn’t rush, but it always moves forward, one step at a time.

Capricorn is often symbolized by the sea goat, a mythical creature with the upper body of a goat and the lower body of a fish. In Greek mythology, Capricorn is linked to the god Pan, who transformed himself during an escape from the great monster Typhon. In a panic, he jumped into the water and tried to become a fish, but the magic only half-worked—leaving his head as a goat and his tail as a fish. When Typhon attacked Zeus and tore the muscles from his legs, it was Pan and Hermes who helped heal him. In gratitude, Zeus placed the image of Pan in the sky, creating the constellation of Capricorn. This myth tells of an individual rising through difficulty by doing good deeds and meeting the task at hand with strength and service.

In astrology, Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the god of time, structure, and divine order. Saturn is also known as Cronos—the father of Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. He is associated with rules, boundaries, authority, and the hard-earned rewards that come only with effort and time. Nothing comes easy under Saturn’s influence, but what is built here lasts.

Capricorn represents duty, responsibility, and slow but steady progress. This sign is not afraid of hard work—they are used to effort, and they rarely give up. Yet Ganymede’s most important act was not as a servant, but as a compassionate visionary. Seeing humanity suffer through drought and thirst, he pleaded with Zeus to intervene. Moved by Ganymede’s selflessness, Zeus sent rain to the Earth, restoring balance and life to the people. His story captures the essence of the Aquarian mission: to uplift the many through the vision of the one.

In the astrological sense, Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the sky god and cosmic disruptor. Uranus brings sudden change, rebellion, revolution, and brilliant invention. It breaks the rules of time, tradition, and hierarchy to make way for new systems. Where Saturn rules what is, Uranus reveals what could be. Its energy is electric, strange, and ahead of its time. Under Uranus, Aquarius becomes the messenger of tomorrow.

Pisces – full of fantasy that dissolves the border between the ego and the universe

Pisces is the twelfth sign in the zodiac cycle and therefore describes the  house, which represents spirituality and our connection to something greater than ourselves. 

The water sign stands for the invisible, non-material side of our lives. It describes dedication, faith, and intuition, as well as everything that is far away from the daily life and routine. This zodiac sign also signifies the call towards something greater than ourselves. It represents the ‘oneness’ with God or the Universe. Pisces stands for the ultimate connection with everything that is and dissolves the borders between me and you, as well as me and the universe. Pisces are empathetic, highly intuitive and creative. The pisceans are always a bit detached and have a whole world of their own in their fantasy. Striving for a greater purpose and being a visionary is part of the Pisces.  It is often symbolized by the fish that helped Aphrodite and Eros, the Gods of love and passion to escape from the titan Typhon. Typhon was an evil titan, with a frightening appearance. His legs were several snake tails and his rage was limitless. Typhon came to Mount Olympus to kill the Gods. All of them escaped by shape shifting, except Aphrodite and Eros. They tried to flee, but were not fast enough. In the last moment, two fish came and rescued both of the Gods through the water from Typhon. To reward the fish for their heroic gesture, the Gods make a constellation of stars for them. The fish represent the dissolving of the boundaries between earth and water. As the story teaches us, only the unfamiliar realm of the water and their unconditional trust could save the Gods. It is said that the Christ consciousness is connected to Pisces, being shown in Christ’s symbol of the two fish. In Christianity Christ stands for unconditional love, unshakeable belief, empathy towards people who need help or outcasts and serving others. 

In the astrological sense, the zodiac sign of Pisces is ruled by the planet Neptune. Neptune, the God of water and the sea, is associated with the power to turn the tides and subjugate nature. Also fog and natural disasters are associated with this God. Neptune rules the spiritual realm and everything apart from the material world.

Therefore, Pisces represents sensitivity, empathy and creativity. The Pisces has the ability to intuitively sense what it is that other people need or feel. This ability is what makes the Pisceans highly intuitive and fine tuned to their environment. You often see surgeons, preachers, gurus and artists that are Pisces (however this seems to be even more with people with ascendant Pisces). This zodiac sign also stands for our connection to spirituality and faith, as well as our own soul and our soul mate. As their sign is so intuitive they make great lovers and seemingly read the minds of their loved ones and do everything to make them feel loved.

The energy of pisces is strongly connected to fantasy, therefore animated movies, art and also video games (especially in fantasy worlds) also have their place here. Pisces stands for isolation and being far away from the daily routines. In the zodiac cycle the house of pisces is in opposition to the 6th house of virgo, which represents routines, plans and work. Looking at Pisces from that angle, it also stands for asylums, hospitals, monasterys, churches, far away countries, retreats, and holiday which is taken for relaxation or health reasons. On another note, soldiers or refugees who are far away from their families and normal lives, are also represented by this sign. Pisces dissolves boundaries, therefore unions between countries (United Nations, European Union, OECD, etc.) but also wars which aim to dissolve borders are associated with this zodiac sign. 

Pisces can also be quite chaotic. As they often reside in their own fantasy, they might sometimes lose touch with their immediate surroundings and also time.
