From the 26th of July 2026 until the 28th of March 2028, the North Node—also known as Rahu in Vedic astrology—moves through Aquarius, while the South Node moves through Leo. This predicts a time of collective awakening and action, as the world order changes and old power structures crumble.
This shift also allows us to reflect on the last lesson we have learned. The North Node in Pisces and South Node in Virgo taught us to let go of the need to control everything, and to trust the eternal flow of life that we are all part of. While this constellation also indicated a shifting of boundaries—psychologically and in the world—and brought some dark aspects with it, it showed us very clearly where we have to let go and give in to the greater flow of things in order to find peace and connect to the divine. Like a great tidal wave, Pisces washed away what we could no longer hold on to. And even when we tried, the world and its circumstances did not allow us to find order, routine and predictability. To understand that we cannot control everything was the lesson of this last nodal transit.
Now, a different time begins. Control was nowhere to be found—and now it is friendships and communities that are being built. At the center of this lunar node transit stand the people and the greater good of humanity.
The South Node in Leo indicates that power and dominance, as well as the need for applause, attention and validation from the outside, are at their downfall. Vanity, showing off and trying to be the center of attention will not go down well in this transit. This is no time for kings and queens; it is the time of the ordinary man and woman.
In the chaos and unpredictability, it is now up to us to build new structures. It is these structures that will become the basis for the future we will come to see. What we need is to learn how to share, how to be together, and how to think together about which future we want to live in. The next twenty months are a great time for co-creation and innovation.
Aquarius and the 11th House
The Water Bearer is connected to the 11th house. This is the house of community, technology, progress and innovation. Many of you may have heard of the “Age of Aquarius,” believed to have begun after 2012 (though there is an ongoing discussion about when it officially starts). The sharing economy, Bitcoin, startups, access to technology, social media and even veganism can all be associated with the progressive and eccentric zodiac sign of Aquarius.
As Aquarius also rules technology, this transit underlines that technology—and especially AI—can be of great value to humanity and its problems. If it is not dominated by an elite (Leo), the accessibility of technology for all can bring enormous benefits. Having this transit of the North Node arrive right as the great AI race has begun is no coincidence. In the next twenty months there will be much progress in this area, leading to new visions of the future that seemed out of reach just a moment ago.
This transit will bring people together and help them stand up against oppression. Interestingly, the North Node was also in Aquarius when the Cold War ended and the Berlin Wall fell. We may see people—and especially the youth—rise up to fight for their rights and for justice for all. In extreme cases, this constellation can lead to coups d’état. When people no longer wish to give their power to leaders who have forgotten them, those leaders naturally fall.
Leo and the 5th House
The South Node (Ketu) has moved into the zodiac sign of Leo. Leo is associated with the 5th house, which stands for romantic love, play, creativity, self-expression, personal projects and children. Basically, everything you create out of joy resides here. This house also carries our talents and strengths—and, in this regard, our need for approval. Emphasized too much, it can become a source of vanity and egocentrism.
It is no coincidence that the 5th house sits opposite the house of community and shared visions. The 5th house holds our personal creations and talents and places the emphasis on the “I” instead of the “We.” With the South Node here, our lesson is to let go of too much ego and to join with others. It is a time to stand together, not to shine alone as an individual.
This also means that the focus is not on the leaders themselves, but rather on the system that created them.
The Myth of Ganymede — and What It Teaches Us About July 2026 to March 2028
To understand the lesson of this transit, we must return to the myth held within the stars of Aquarius. The constellation of the Water Bearer tells the story of Ganymede, the beautiful son of a Trojan king. For his extraordinary spirit and beauty, Ganymede was chosen by Zeus and carried to Mount Olympus to serve as cupbearer to the gods. On the surface this looks like a role of servitude, yet it was a position of the highest honor—a mortal raised to sit among the divine.
Here we already meet the tension of the nodal axis. Ganymede could have rested there, admired and adored, close to the throne of the king of gods.
But his most important act was not to shine. Looking down from Olympus, Ganymede saw humanity suffering through drought and thirst. To uplift the many through the vision of the one: this is the Aquarian mission, and it is the invitation of these twenty months.

Around 2007 to 2009, the North Node last moved through Aquarius. These were the years the old financial order broke apart in the global financial crisis—the towers of concentrated wealth and power shaken to their foundations. In the very same window, something quietly Aquarian was born: Bitcoin, a decentralized currency answerable to no elite, and with it the whole language of the sharing economy. Technology became suddenly accessible to all through the smartphone and the rise of social media, and movements formed around the collective hope that a different future was possible. Old money fell; new networks rose.
Around 1988 to 1990, the North Node moved through Aquarius as the Berlin Wall fell and the Cold War came to its end. Across Eastern Europe, ordinary people stood together and old power blocs simply dissolved. Where the many no longer consent to be ruled by leaders who have forgotten them, those leaders fall—this is the pure expression of Aquarius over Leo.
And around 1970 to 1971, we find the same current running through the counterculture and the peace movements, the first stirrings of the environmental awakening, and a generation of youth demanding a freer and fairer world.
The pattern is unmistakable. Whenever Rahu enters Aquarius, the age of kings gives way, for a time, to the age of the people.
