A Galactic Recalibration
The New Moon on 19 December 2025 takes place at 28° Sagittarius, very close to the Galactic Center at 27° Sagittarius. Astronomically, the Galactic Center is the gravitational and rotational core of the Milky Way. This point represents orientation and alignment – for a whole galaxy and also for us. Astrologically we interpret this point as a sense that life is not random and there is a destiny that sets a path through life for us.
A New Moon at this point is a new beginning that acts like a corrective to our current course. It is not so much about starting something new, but more about realigning with the path you are already on, but may have lost clarity around.
Therefore, I see this New Moon as a moment of recalibration.
Sun, Moon and Juno: Commitment and Direction
This New Moon is closely aligned with the Sun and Juno in Sagittarius. The Sun represents direction, energy and vitality, while Juno represents commitment, loyalty, and the long-term — in relationships, but also in life choices.
Together at the Galactic Center, they highlight a central theme of this lunation:
What are you truly committed to, and does your current direction reflect that?
This can show up as decisions around your partnership, loyalty or long-term planning. It questions whether you are committed to a vision, a value, or a way of living that feels more true to you and sustainable for your health and heart.
Venus and Mercury in Sagittarius: Honest Values and Clear Signals
Venus at 23° Sagittarius adds warmth, courage, and desire for a good life. Venus brings to our attention our values, relationships, and enjoyment and makes us question whether we have enough freedom and honesty on the path we are on. If that is not the case, Mercury comes to support. Mercury in Sagittarius supports direct communication and broader, out-of-the-box thinking. This may help us in conversations – but be careful not to act erratic (Uranus aspect, see below) or push others away with your words.
Guidance for you may arrive through words, symbols, conversations, memories, music, sudden insights, or fleeting visions. Pay attention to what repeats. Pay attention to what resonates deeply, even if it doesn’t make sense yet.
Quincunx to Uranus: Adjustments, Not Drastic Breaks
The New Moon, Sun, Venus, Juno and even the Galactic Center are in quincunx to Uranus. This indicates unease and the need for adjustment.
Something in your life may feel slightly off: routines, agreements, expectations, or ways of relating that no longer match who you are becoming or what you want for yourself. Uranus brings awareness, but the quincunx asks for practical recalibration. Uranus stands for disruption, so be careful not to burst out and lash out at others, especially in partnerships or with others that you are on a shared path with.
But if you feel that you have to adjust certain things – do it now. Small, conscious adjustments now prevent larger disruptions later.
Squares to Saturn and Neptune: Responsibility Versus Resignation
A key feature of this New Moon is the square to Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. These aspects challenge how you relate to limits, faith, hope and responsibility.
Saturn in Pisces can show where you feel blocked, discouraged, or overly defined by past circumstances. Furthermore, it highlights themes of responsibuility and doing things right. Neptune can blur clarity, leading to doubt, escapism, or a sense of powerlessness. Whenever there is a strong Neptune aspect, there is a symbolic (sometimes real) fog that is limiting your view.
The squares lead you to ask where you are not taking responsibility for your path and keep yourself in a victim state. Check yourself. This New Moon asks you to move out of victim narratives by recognizing where you have underestimated your agency. Or where you should finally take initiative and own your steps.
These squares expose self-sabotage disguised as realism and hopelessness masquerading as wisdom. The real danger here is not failure — it is that you resign.
Relationships, Vision, and Self-Trust
With Venus and Juno both involved in the Saturn–Neptune squares, themes of love, commitment, and trust are under review. This can bring uncertainty around relationships, boundaries, or future plans. Are you clear about your wishes? Are your dreams supported by action, or do you keep postponing the necessary steps to make them reality?
The Core Message of This New Moon
This New Moon gives you a chance to realign with your destiny, your values and your wishes. You may correct your direction with small, realistic steps over idealized visions. You do not need to have everything figured out.
But you do need to be honest about where you are and what no longer fits.
It is time to take responsibility and stop the blame-game or victim mentality. Take a moment to be grateful for what you have been given and what you have achieved. And if you are mindful with the energies you can commit more consciously to yourself and to others.
